Activity - using Google Play to search for and install apps

There are many more educational apps available free of charge on the Internet. You can find them and download them using the Google Play app.
We have provided a short list of some suggestions. These are on the Worksheet from the previous topic.
The only limitation is memory. There may not be sufficient memory on the tablets provided to install many more apps. However, you need to know how to search for apps to meet particular needs and can do so using your own Android devices.

Exercise
You will now practice searching, installing and removing apps.
- Verify you are connected to the Internet
- Start Google Play and search for and install "Dolphin Browser"
- Search for and install "Sound Wave"
- Launch Sound Wave and see what it does.
- Now remove Sound Wave using Applications > System Settings.
- Now search for and install "ODK Collect"
The facilitator will demonstrate Dolphin Browser and ODK Collect.
Dolphin Browser is needed to view Flash graphics. For instance, the "E-Learning 4 Kids" resources on the Portal server. The first time you view Flash with it, the app will ask download a small file "Adobe Flash player". Allow it to do so.
- view some Flash resources on your tablet using Dolphin Browser
